Gremlin 3 (Lenny)

Image
Hello, Yet another one of the fiends. Lenny's probably my favorite of the bunch. I don't know what it is about his character that makes him somehow most attractive, but I can also say the same for rest of the bunch. For my money, it's the donkey face. The fact that there's not a single jagged edge to the body, makes it an easy one to tackle. The narrative coincides with the scene where he's shown throwing eggs toward the cooking show host. It's a pretty funny scene. Also, there's a chicken there for some reason... Enjoy!

Gremlin 2 (George)

Image
Long time, So I'm wayy late on these Gremlin write-ups! I'll quickly get to speed. Continuing where I left off, I said I had to make many studies on these characters, not only to understand the general shapes but in developing some confidence in the execution for each fiend. It becomes somewhat hazy when actually working out any texture from memory. The little design details always count, and so studies are a necessary evil. Georgy here, took special liberties, in that I had to make up a narrative unseen in the film that could fit his character. Having that smug lip with the slouching over-weight build, I thought that maybe a mob boss would be the right fit for the image. And because of the PG nature of the movie, I thought it'd be funny switching coke out with sugar. Though, there's never a scene depicting a glutinous power-hog of a goblin, I figured if those Gremlins survived their sequel, this would've been natural progression of things. There's plenty of de...

Gremlin 1 (Mohawk)

Hello, Been quite a bit since I last updated. I was meaning to have enough of these little guys done before I decided to move forward with the blog posts, and now that I've completed the full set, time to post them. This may be the last project I have with Gremlins for a while. I want to move forward with more horror movie monsters, though, with some pretty obscure ones first. Namely your RawHead Rexs'  or  From Beyond type creatures. Anyway, it had to be Mohawk to kick it off. He is easily the most wicked of them all, which, if you're unfamiliar with my tastes in creature design, rule is, if it bares fangs, it's getting all the love all at once. Good thing I started here too because it allowed me to get over the pose and onto the detail (the main event) and make all the little mistakes I wanted there (and not in the pose). There's a bunch of correction fluid here, though not necessarily a bad thing. My first trial at a Gremlin.  Also, knowing no artist rendition p...

Jeepers Creepers

Image
Good morning, This is the second attempt with the spray bottle, but happy enough with the results that I want to maintain it in most of the coming works moving forward. What I need now is a china pencil and play with those effects too. Anyway, great film franchise. A 00s mixed celebration of the classic horror of the 60s, 70s, and 80s. At least the first two are worth a couple viewings. The third somewhat loses me. Thanks of looking. Enjoy!

Alien 1979 Inks/Pencils

Image
Here's the Alien(1979) inks as promised. Pretty fun to work on in all its various stages. Experimented a few methods adding atmosphere/tone in the ink stages. Should be pretty fun to see how I apply this in the next dozen or so creeps. Soon....

Magician's Birthday (Inks)

Hello everyone, Welcome to my blog, where I'll share low rez (uncolored) scans of my completed works. This can also serve as a digital portfolio of sorts, but for the time, it's just a place where I'll be dumping images such as progress images, sketches, but mainly the fully fleshed B&W pieces. I'll be updating this site through next week, so till then here's a little something to hold you over. Enjoy!😊
